Freight Broker Job Opportunities

West Coast Carriers is seeking experienced Freight Brokers and Agents to grow with our company.

Candidates should be outgoing, self motivated, self confident, organized, analytical and posses the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Candidates should be willing to do what it takes to get the job done, take pride in even the smallest of tasks assigned, take the next step(s) on their own, and have a willingness to help others in the department and across the team. Candidates should also display professionalism and independent decision making abilities.

In addition, candidates should have a proficiency in Microsoft products, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Generate and maintain a strong customer base that produces a min. of $30,000.00 in net revenue monthly basis.
Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership of accomplishing new and different requests from customers and the company.
Work directly with customers and carriers to arrange freight shipment by anticipating delivery requirements, destinations, routes, rates while keeping the customer fully informed from beginning to the end of the shipment.
Protect the company reputation by keeping rates, all customer information, all carrier information and all company information confidential.
Be able to work independently without supervision and cross train to learn additional department duties as needed.
Interact in a professional manor with other members of the team, customers and carriers.
Possess a sense of humor with the ability to have fun in an office environment while getting the job done as needed.

Requirements: The Ideal candidate will have a min. of 3 years within the Freight Brokerage or Transportation Industry and have current customer relationships with brokerage opportunities. Candidate will be self driven and possess strong analytical and technical skills that can be used to produce creative solutions. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi task and possess computer knowledge.

High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not necessary. Bilingual Languages Russian or Spanish are helpful but not needed.
